Picture this: you’re walking down the curly + coily haircare aisle for a restock run. Conditioner, check. Curl butter, got it. Styling cream, snagged. These products may have unique places in a curly and coily hair routine, but there’s a common thread. They’re all formulated with traditional cosmetic chemistry that covers up damage by “taming” strands—ignoring the damage on the inside of hair. So instead of frizz-free hydration, your clients get weighed-down, dehydrated, and brittle curls + coils. 

There are other products that go a little deeper, bond builders patch broken disulfide bonds right below the hair surface but those results usually wash away after the first shower or wetting. Because of where these products work, this isn’t deep enough for true hair repair. Curly and coily hair needs products that work on the molecular level—where damage and hair are all the same.
